    C2 window channel

    63 convertible

The channels (or sashes (?)) that carry the window glass are a bit shabby. I am trying to find replacements but can't identify the part in any of the catalogs (CC, Paragon, Doc R). Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Related question: My windows have never aligned with the convertible top as well as I would like. Knowing that there are alot of other factors involved, how should the glass be positioned in the channel? Note in the attached picture that the currently the glass is flush at the front with about an inch of overhang in the back.

    Steve,

Are the parts rusted in the lower portion that runs up/down the window channels? If not I would polish and try to use the original parts, I don't believe these are reproduced but I could be wrong.

Naturally if they are reproduced there would be something different or they would not fit right as that's what usually happens with non original parts.

No, they are just sprayed with primer. The windows operate well, the problem is cosmetic; the exposed chrome on the channel is kinda shabby and has a few dents. I assume that they are chrome: if they are SS then I can buff them a bit. I had not thought of that before.

Steve, I believe they are stainless. have a dent and ding and polish guy fix them. I'd look to fix mine or get an original set before I'd buy a repro.

        I just saw these.......

            Steve,
The glass appears as it has been reset previously. It looks as it is too far forward. (Right now you have the rear edge of the glass running in the rear window channel, as it goes up and down. And not the guide that is part of the sash.) I usually line the rear edge of the glass up with the rear guide on the sash.

These from a '67 but IIRC same for '63. I don't have measurements, but from the pics you may be able to see the placement in the sashes. These fit the soft top opening very well.........Rich
