C1 engine harness routing question

I am in the process of replacing the engine harness on my 1960 (long story - see thread on C1 fuel problem if interested) anyway the judging manual says the red wire to the voltage regulator should run across bottom of heater plenum (which mine did not - but it was wired incorrectly so go figure) - anyway i can't tell from the AIM if there is a clip there to hold the wire or if it just hangs free - can't feel a clip on my car nor do if feel a broken clip or a hole for a clip.
Anyone know the answer to this?

I didn't go to the garage to look but I seem to remember it is attached to one of the heater plenum studs - I could be wrong. Don H.

Small clip attached to firewall under heater inlet,
