Re: !965 Jack Board Label Location

James, I ran into the same thing with my '65 396 car. The factory installation on my original jack board didn't match the JG description. The interior judge asked me about that during judging. I told him that I put the labels on the new board in the same location as the ratty old board. The interior judge smiled and said "good job". The point is, restore your car how it was born--not how the outdated JG reads.

      Tony,

Thanks for the response. I'll put them back where they were found.

Here's a pic. of the board on my 65. All labels are original and have never been removed/replaced.

James, mine looks like your first picture and I will not change it to match the JG !

Re: !965 Jack Board Label Location

This thread proves that there are several original boards that show that there was no specific position for these labels. For the Judging Guide to state that there is only one correct way only proves that the 1965 guide is wrong in yet another area.

                Thanks everyone who has responded.

                Carl,

From what I remember, your car's VIN is not too much high than the two cars that I have. I wonder if possibly there was a worker on the line that day that was unfamiliar with where the labels were to be put. My cars 22095 and 22161 are 66 apart and your is just a dozen numbers highrt as I remember.

I'll be reinstalling the labels where I found them.

                Thanks again,

                James West
