    Unusual 1963 Corvette up for auction in Houston

    This is a very interesting car and story I had not heard before. I loved the movie too.

          Thanks for the picture, was that staging up for the drive in to the convention center? I guess I missed it, my bad. I do remember the Dick Lang one and the many Z06s they had on display. Of course I didn't know the story of the car at the Nationals either and hadn't watched the movie in quite a few years. Very neat car.

              Yes, the photo was taken on Sunday when the Corvettes were outside prior to going into the Convention Center.

                          Harry, that's correct, saw the 63 at Lake Tahoe Regional last year while Carlton was verifying it, super neat car, a real piece of race history!

                          Drove the 64 over 5000 miles to three Regionals and the San Jose National, one dust storm and 40 lbs of bugs!

                                  For anyone interested, the downloadable PDF file at that link location (see Additional Information PDF link 1/2 way down page on right side) has some really neat old race pictures, screenshots from the movie, some records and documents including NCRS shipping report, letter from Corvette Mike Vietro, pre-restoration photos, etc.
