I'm planning on lifting the body off Saturday. All 8 mounts are off. Straps are on. Any advise to add to the checklist. I Did a lot of reading and looked at the archives threads. Thanks, Jeff

Re: 68 Convertible Body Lift
I wouldn't lift it off the chassis without the doors in place. They add structural rigidity to the entire body while lifting. Otherwise, the car could fold in half...little exaggerated maybe, but leave the doors on.Leif

Re: 68 Convertible Body Lift
Missed the brace in the picture. I'm sure that will work fine. By looking at your collection of cars, I should have know you knew what you were doingEnjoy the resto!!

Re: 68 Convertible Body Lift
Hi Jeff,
NICE project!
It sure looks like you've done this before!
Do 68s have that little ground wire that's at one of the starter bolts?
If you miss it, it makes the cutest little 'ping' as the connector breaks off the wire!
Good Luck!

Re: 68 Convertible Body Lift
Ha,Ha, Alan. We don't want Pings. I have never done this before. Just taking advise from some great people and members. I'll give it one more check underneath and comment if I find anything. Thanks again. Ah, just came to me I sent the starter out to john P. Months ago. I'll still take one last look.68 L79 Convertible: Triple Black: Work In Progress, Body off. Now on!
