Attn: 1955 Corvette owners - current or past

Curious to know if current or past owners, or any other knowledgeable person for that matter, are aware of the clutch disc size for the 1955 Corvette, and whether or not any 1955 model was produced with a 6 cylinder engine. Corvette Parts book may be correct, or not, in listing the part number as 3758678 and identifying it as a 11" clutch disc.

    Thanks,

    Larry

    Larry,

1955 Corvette Parts Book, blue cover lists the following:
    Group 4.164 Clutch Assembly 55 V-8 3713697
    Group 4.163 Plate, Transmission Clutch 55 V-8 (8 internal splines) 3713694

    1956 Corvette Parts Book
Group 0.886 Disc, with facing clutch 55 Corv 8 cyl 3729872 (woven 10 inch OD hub painted light brown).

Yes, they made a few 6 cylinder 1955 Corvettes.

Joe Lucia can probably add more information.
