58 Body Mount Shim Rear Trunk Gap Adjustment

I have large gaps along side trunk. Both rear fenders sits much lower than height of trunk.

Will putting shims under body mounts, near the rear bumpers, help lift up the rear fenders for better trunk fit.
If so, can I do this without loosing up the body mount bolts, only the two rear body mounts bolts will be removed.

Eric, you may have a problem with door gaps, if they appear ok, the rear is probably set ok.

I am NOT a KNOWLEDABLE JUDGE on this BUT can your trunk weatherstrip be the oversized roll type that makes the trunk lid sit up to 1/2" HIGHER THAN IT SHOULD SIT ?
mY TRUNK LID LOOKED LIKE THAT UNTIL I put a correct nos weatherstrip on it . AGAIN don't listen to me I AM JUST rambling on
