Coolant Recovery Line Inside Diameter

For a late '77, what would be the correct inside diameter for the coolant recovery line? The one that is on my car currently is an aftermarket line and is 5/16. This line doesn't want to fit on the recovery tank, and I'm not going to force it either. Taking measurements shows a 3/8 ID would probably work best, but would like to verify if possible. Thanks.

Also, were the original recovery lines for the late 77 marked or stamped? Was the hose similar in construction to fuel hose (which is what was on my car)? Thank you.

The hose from the radiator to the coolant recovery tank is reinforced hose with a 3/8 inch Id and 1/2 inch Od. It has been seen sometimes with a printed nomenclature on it and sometimes not. Hoses are available from Doc Rebuild either way.

Got the 3/8" ID hose and green clamps from NAPA and all is well. Thanks again Al.
