which type coupler type is better

older style had the little pull up tab you could put lock in, what most u-haul use and many now use bull dog style with the slider sleeve......which is better or safer to keep locked on ball at all times....for 2-5/16 ball. thanks

Either one is safe. The big difference is the Bull Dog is cat, the other is stamped steel. Unless you are planning on towing 75,000 miles a year, I would not turn my hand over for the difference
