    66 wire harness w/ AC

    Hi Guys ,

At the very end of the Engine Compartment Wire Harness are three wires one orange and two black. (see Photo)

I can find nowhere for them to go . Are these the connections described in the AIM C-60 E1 #8 , I hope ? (See photo)

If so does anyone have a pic as to how to wrap them ? Ie, cover the connections , just wrap up some of the wire , etc etc.

If not , where the heck do they go ?

    Thanks '

    Jim

That is the heater blower moter lead wire and ground. But for AC cars you do not use the wires from the engine harnes. The AC harnes has those two plug

Thanks Keith, That is what I thought but wasn't sure of . Always good to verify ! I believe I will also run into a similar situation in the dash harness area as well

So on AIM C-60 E1 #8 it states 3724851 Tape-6 reqd. to tape PROD. HARN. HTR. BLW. HTR. Leads .) Anybody able to translate that into English for me ?
Is that the same Non-stick tape as the rest of the harness ? Is it tape #6 or six wraps of tape ? Do I just wrap the leads, or do I wrap all the leads up onto the AC harness to connect the two ? Anyone have a decent picture ?

As always this board is invaluable to me .

        Jim -

It means "Tape - 6" required - to tape production harness heater blower leads". It's ordinary black vinyl electrical tape; just fold the connectors back a few inches on the harness, wrap with tape so they don't flop around loose, and tuck it up under the fender, out of sight. You'll do the same thing inside the car with the leads for the standard blower switch and for the heater resistor, which aren't used with A/C.

          John,

Just ordinary black electrical tape . I have that !

          Thanks for the full translation.

Just as an aside , and as a reason for being so cautious. I found it hard to believe that all that wire was not used for anything. God knows there isn't much of a margin in any of the connections I have made so far .
That is to say they were not very generous with their wire overall, so I was not certain they would just abandon nearly two feet . I guess they made up for it in the additional cost for A/C.

          Thanks again,

          Jim
