1969 Corvette Headlights will not go up

    Hi All,

69 Corvette headlight buckets will not pop up. What quick checks and diagnostics should I be looking into? Not well versed in vacuum systems.

    Thanks,
    Dave

David to raise your headlights to drive when they will not raise with the headlight switch or the pull down switch you can reach into the center grille and push them up by hand. They will lock in the up position. To lower them you will have to release them at the headlights "elbow" by pushing down at the "elbow". Before you start your 69 after manually raising the headlights pull down the headlight pull down switch to keep engine created vacuum from closing the headlights. On my 68 and 70 this is easy to do.

        Hi Guys,

Thanks for the insights. The lights are fixed. It was a loose connection at the headlight switch which was causing a vacuum leak. All fixed now.

        Thanks,
        Dave
