'66 Paint Question

We recently purchased a matched up 66. I am making a "punch list" in hopes of getting her ready for judging.
It has been painted (I'm told just once) and is color code correct. How can I tell if it has a clear coat?
Am I understanding the technical information manual correctly, if it can't pass originality then the condition won't matter.

Your car can be judged with BC/CC and be successful.....it's all in the prep. Since the car has already has had a recent paint job it's too late to take the steps to mimic lacquer however there are other steps you can take to help yourself. Dulling (less shine) down the areas like door jambs, hood ledge not to mention other areas. Your judging guide should be your best bet in getting the car ready for judging regarding paint. Your goal is having your paint mimic a factory style paint job no matter what the car is painted with.

Rubbing compound on a rag. If it come up color, it doesnt have clear coat.
