I have what I believe is either an original or early replacement tire that was in the spare tub of my 1967 that I recently purchased. I'm trying to determine if it is worth trying to sell to someone who might need it for flight judging. I have no plans to ever have this car judged and if the tire is not worth anything then I will just dispose of it. It is a 7.75-15 Firestone Deluxe Champion. I can find no DOT stamp anywhere. It has some tread wear, I measure tread depth from 0.16 to 0.20 in different locations. There is what appears to be a faint 68 stamped in red ink on the outer side wall, but I can't really make it out. I was thinking that this was a year date stamp so it would be a replacement tire?If it's worth anything then I'll put it on the NCRS for sale site. I'm not looking for a exorbitant price just trying to see if it would be of value to anyone. Thanks,Don

Re: Is this tire worth anything?
My guess is that someone would want it for their spare. Not sure what it's worth though as it is not unused.65 350 TI CONV 67 J56 435 CONV,67,390/AIR CONV,70 454/air CONV,

Re: Is this tire worth anything?
Don,
With that much thread used up I would assume the condition deduct would offset the correctness of the tire as a spare in flight judging. Most restorers want a spare that will take no deductions in flight judging. Maybe one of your buddies would want it as a gift.........
A set of non DOT tires in good condition with little to no wear bring good money. Worn, not so much!- Top
