Removing Side Pipes on 66 roadster

Does anyone have experience removing non factory installed side pipes from a 66 roadster? If so, can you share some thoughts/steps required to return to under body exhaust system?
    Thanks

It shouldn't be that difficult to install the factory type under car system but you may have to repair some damage done when they installed the side pipes. They may have cut off the brackets that hold the rocker panels in place and they may have removed a small piece of fiberglass where the side pipe comes through to the outside of the car. You will also have to get an exhaust panel with holes in it. If you look at the AIM for your car it should show the proper installation of the exhaust and the supports for the rockers.
