I am replacing the exhaust system on my 66 427-450 car and am wondering what torque spec to use for the 3 manifold to exhaust pipe bolts ( 3 on either side of engine)?I cant seem to find it in any of my current information.

Yes, the heat and compression definitely affects the exhaust packings. However, there's a way around this-----use sintered iron rings instead of the packings. These are all I use. They're essentially "immortal" and pretty much eliminate the need for repeated re-torquing of the flange nuts.

Are the above original for Corvette? Only if you have a 1975-81. But, they work very well for all earlier.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
