BG is the oldest and largest Corvette gathering I've ever been to. I was at the 2012 BC event when it was held at Pheasant Run CC outside of Chicago. It was a great experience and I got a wealth of information talking with the judges.

The BG Certification is much different from NCRS Flight Judging although some of the judges do both NCRS and BG judging. There is only 1 team of judges that complete their inspection in less than 1 hour (actually 36 minutes is the goal). When I planned to try for BG I searched for and fount many comments posted on the NCRS Forum. I posted my own questions and received helpful replies. When I got the BG scoring sheets I did a self evaluation using my most current NCRS scoring sheets.

One point I head from several people (don't know if true) is that you can expect the BG score to be 1% less than that of NCRS. That assumes your engine stamp and trim tags are true.

If I can help email me at ron.napoliello@comcast.net.

    Ron
There Ron, I fixed it for you. Minor stuff.

Have read if base/clear paint they do not make gold, mine is lacquer, so maybe! At regional would have scored over 98, but they deducted 88 points for stamp pad, so thus the reason for declaring not OEM at BG, it has passed in chapter meets, but? Sure looks right to me and supposedly Al Greening blessed it, but I want no chance to not make gold.Any advice on the window sticker item, do not know about that.I have emailed Gail at BG to get the judging sheets. Thanks,John
John, do you have a CCAS, LLC verification number from Al Grenning with respect to the engine stamp pad?

        John...

        FWIW...

I took my cars ('65 and '67) to BG in 2005 and 2011, respectively... Both cars had BC/CC paint...

On the '65, I had done a Chapter meet in FL in late 2004 and the FL Regional in 2005... Received TF status on the car at both events...

After the FL Regional, stuck the car in a storage unit and pulled it out in early June, went through all Ops, ordered a window sticker for the car and got the car ready for BG judiging... The judges were pretty much all NCRS judges and the car received a BG award... On a side note, the car scored higher at BG than it did at the NCRS Regional level... No deducts for paint at either event...

Concerning the '67, took it to BG first and the car received a fairly high score on its way to receiving a BG award... Took it to the Texas Regional in October, 2011 and it received a TF award... The car scored lower at the NCRS event than BG... Most of the judges were the same at both events... No deduct on the paint at either event...

Might be hard to believe, but all I did was get a window sticker and put it on for the BG event and took it off for the NCRS event...

No difference in preparation on my part for either event other than the window sticker...

        Again, just my experience...

        Rick
