I was replacing the window regulators on my '66 Roadster as well as adjusting the vent window glass/frame assembly so that it would fit correctly inside the weather strip and as I was making an adjustment with a rubber mallet on the vent window glass in an effort to get the glass to fit better into the frame, I broke the pivot pin off the glass frame. The base of the pivot is still spot welded to the frame, but the pin popped right off. Since the pin came off nice and clean, I was hoping to have it reattached. Any ideas how the pivot pin was attached to the base originally? Would I be better off just replacing the entire part?

Re: '66 Roadster Vent Window Frame Pivot Pin Repair
Bob,
The pivot is welded to the base as well. Paragon has the part and I think they will repair the vent window for you. Give them a call. If you have a welder that can or will weld stainless you might take it to them and pray that they know what they are doing. Most welders stick it on but have a large blob of weld that doesn't look too great.

Re: '66 Roadster Vent Window Frame Pivot Pin Repair
Bob, I have a 63 that had a poor repair job on the drivers vent window frame and ended up on flea bay to find a used window frame for 75.00, The factory pivots were spot welded, If you can find someone to do such a job its likely would be cheaper. There maybe a vender that does such repairs, It might be worth checking.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top
