For an upcoming Regional Meet we were told that we had to have a valid title with the Corvette owner's name on it, for it to be considered for judging. Has something changed? In my mind, proof of ownership can take on numerous forms. We had a title from with the previous owner's name; where the new car owner tranfer had not taken place yet. In lieu of that, we were ready to supply an affidavit, signed and notorized; however, we were turned down. Thanks in advance for the help! Sincerely, Mark

Re: Proof Of Ownership
Mark from the Judging Reference Manual page 70 #7 under the Judges Meeting...
Current vehicle registration, copy of title or MSO
including Bill of Sale are three (3) acceptable methods.
Also Section 2 #1 Page 14
1. MODEL YEARS JUDGED, MEMBERSHIP & VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION
NCRS Flight Judging is presently open to any 1953 through 1996 production Chevrolet Corvette as
long as the owner(s) is an NCRS member in good standing. The car must be entered and shown by the
owner/member, and proof of ownership, such as state vehicle registration or a copy of the ownership
title, must be available for confirmation. The car must have the correct attached Chevrolet factory
Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) plate or an attached valid state-approved replacement ID plate
that matches title and/or registration. Should a car appear with a Chevrolet (GM) issued duplicate VIN
plate, it must be accompanied with acceptable documentation from the Chevrolet Division of General
Motors confirming issuance. Any car appearing without identification as described shall be ineligible
for any NCRS judging.- Top

Re: Proof Of Ownership
Docs to show that the person is s principal in a licensed dealership, proper reassignment of title papers, proof of insurance should be adequate I believe.
Just an open title will not suffice.Dick Whittington- Top

Re: Proof Of Ownership
Dick: The person is the principal of a licensed dealership, has the proper title papers and has proof of insurance. Maybe I am missing something; but, the individuals that we were working with in this situation showed no effort in finding a solution to this. It was: your name has to be on the title, or the Corvette can not be judged. Thank you very much for your response! Mark- Top

When I had my dealers license I never had anything titled in my name, the law does not require it.Dick Whittington- Top

Re: Proof Of Ownership
Dick: This is precisely why I have asked for guidance. As you can see, I have been a member for many years. I have put in several years as the chapter president; and I put on the Natinal Convention in 1996. This is the first time that I have encountered a roadblock like this. We have judged Corvettes at our Chapter and Regional meets in the past that did not have the owner's name on the title. It was also my understanding that 11 other owners had to clean up their title information for this upcoming Regional meet. Sincerely, Mark- Top

Re: Proof Of Ownership
Mark,
As I understand it, but I could be incorrect - Dealer's have to have a bill of sale assigned to the dealer's business and dealer business papers showing the name of the person who wants to register the car for Judging as having vested interest in the business. In addition to proof of insurance in the dealer's business name on said car.

Re: Proof Of Ownership
Gary: I believe that there may be differences depending on the state. For this particular instance, the Chapter Judging Chair has said that he knows that the person wanting to get the Corvette judged owns the Corvette. Also, there is not a problem with space for judging. Mark- Top

Re: Proof Of Ownership
Mark,
My reference was to what the National Judging Chairman accepts as proof of ownership.

Re: Proof Of Ownership
Mark,
What exactly were the documents the car dealer/owner presented? Such as a specific detailed list of what was presented.
As Dick point out an "Open Title" is NOT acceptable.
