    License Plate Light Frame

I want to remove the license plate light frame and paint it on my '66 coupe. I've got the frame off but how is the bulb/socket removed from the rest of the assembly? Is it pressed in?

    Thanks in advance.

the bulb just twists an 8th turn to come out. Then I suggest you carefully mask the socket, and paint the housing with the socket in place. I did it on mine and it looks factory.
I think you are asking for trouble if you try to remove the socket.
    And welcome to the club.

Thanks.. the NCRS Judging Guide for my '66 says that the frame is a dull silver. Am I correct to assume that includes that portion inside the lens?

it is never correct to assume anything, but yes, the housing is silver within and without the lens.

I have restored many of these, using the new silver metallic paints, look good as new inside.

Greg the socket its self is pressed into the housing and cannot be removed. just tape off and spray the rest.
