    Thank you Edward. Since the trailing arms were lined up was there a preference as to which side was right side up? Getting way too deep into this. LOL

      Jeff in Alans post above I believe the drivers side is upside down, So the other is right side up.I don't have my car to look at, I am at work.

          The date y'all are talking about is presumed to be the assembly date of the trailing arm assembly (within six months before the build date of the car -- if you can see it). Apparently, since we have seen the different orientation consistently on very original low mileage Corvettes, the arms were oriented in opposite directions, perhaps stacked or nested for transfer or shipping, when the stamp was applied.

          Now if all of the trailing arm ink stamp restorers stamp the dates all the same way eventually, as us old guys die off, you young'uns will all come to think they were all stamped one way. In the larger picture this is called "revisionist history" and happens more often, more quickly, and more easily than one might think. I better stop there before I get in trouble with the Admins. Anyone for: mitting black out, or big block hoods on small blocks?
