    1969 lap belt guides

I have seen several versions of C3 lap belt guides that sit under the outside corner of the seats that the belt goes under. There is a 4 bolt version as well as 3 bolt, and I have seen guides both with and without the protective rubber strip on the top edge. The one on the right came from a July 69 coupe. When were the 4 bolt versions used and which is correct for a Feb 69 build? When did the protective strips start?

    Thanks, Robert

Just a dumb question before I have to do it. Have you looked in the Assembly Manual?

AIM is no help, the "cartoon" gives no indication and the guides have no PN stamped on them to reference. Also trying to determine if there was a mid-year change between 3/4 bolt and with/without rubber strip.

There were at least 3, and possibly 4, different designs used for these reinforcements during the 1969 model year. I do not know when each design change was introduced. However, the final design went into PRODUCTION very late in the model year, probably not before October, 1969.

Terry, the AIM location is ASM 1, F26, p134. The AIM shows PN 3976463/4.

I cleaned up the 4 hole guides, and there is the [triangle steer] logo and part numbers: 3966693/4.

The 3 hole version has the [triangle steer] logo but no part numbers. Also it appears to be flash chromed, while the 4 hole looks galvanized or cad plated (no expert on finishes)

Roger, can you take a look to see what PN you have? it is on the upper side between the two rear bolts.

              Thanks, Robert

                Robert,

I have the three hole version. They appear to be galvanized. I could not see a part number. They are now back in the car, so I couldn't look on the bottom side.
