    54 stalled

Hi, was on a short drive this morning, just about home in the 54, pulled up to a stop sign and the car just stopped, no spit or sputter but just stopped. Tried to start but nothing, got under the hood, thought maybe neg. came loose, wiggled and tapped wires to starter and n. safety switch, battery and that was it, turned key and it started right up. Any idea's? Thank's, Brad.

With the engine running, go wiggle and tap all the things which got you going. See if you can duplicate the problem. If so, you've found the cause.

Check your ground on the drivers side of the engine.
Make sure you have a good ground
      Check the points, wires tight
Check the connections at the coil and at the connection coming thru the ing shielding....
Couple things off the top of my head....

Thank's Chris for the info, I do recall in the past the shielding and I believe distributor wire were touching and grounding out but do not recall if it cranked and would not start or no action at all, will check all connection's for proper contact. Would the coil going out do this? Seem's on my 58 when coil was going out it would just run poorly on occasion till on a drive one day boom, big backfire and coil was gone. Than you, Brad.
