Tom Ames? The NCRS Body & Paint guru...or do you mean "Real Deal" whose name does not appear on the inside cover?

I had a big bubble about the size of a half dollar on the front nose of my '67, still can't figure out what caused it. But there are some very good paint gurus around that make a living fixing things like this with perfect blending and matching. Mine was fixed and you can't tell. Try a Mercedes dealership, or other high end exotic car dealer. They know people who do it.

I have no problem admitting when I made/make a mistake. It is not the first and won't be the last. Since I did that inside cover for a few years (and it was a real PITA with email and phone number changes), I should have known what it says without looking. NCRS disease.

Just to put it into perspective - I haven't killed anyone at work yet by making a mistake in almost 46 years, and that is not because i haven't made a mistake there either. Making a mistake on the TDB is not such a big deal, except it breaks the "It is on the Internet so it must be true." rule.

I thought he said the bubbles were in the stinger. It should be an easy match.

                    Matthew,
On a serious note I had a similar paint problem on my 67 coupe back in 71 about 6 mos. After I painted it (acrylic laquer). I buffed it out about 3 mos. After paint. One day the sprinkler left a few drops on the hood and just in front.
It looked like a water spot so I tried to clean it with soap&water, Didn't work. I thought it was the hot sun magnifying thru the water. At each water drop came what ended up a bubble. It was a heart break so I took the hose and wet the whole car down to see what would happen. The bubbles got larger and I did some match painting but couldn't keep up and finally quit. 6 years later I took a single edge razor and started removing the paint.
Not the same problem but most was in the hood area.

Well, we'll see how it goes, Dom. Not going to stress about it anymore. Still in the "break in" period of my new '65 Corvette, and I'm sure many more unpleasant surprises await me (along with many pleasant surprises). Just going to go with the flow for a while. Thanks.
