Hi--Yesterday, my wife just got her car back from the paint shop where it had been sand stripped to the bare surface; primed; sealed; and shot with base coat and clear coat. The car is now in our garage sitting next to my '67 Corvette coupe (see how cleverly I worked Corvette into this post?). Anyway, she wants to have a clear bra put on the lower portion of the hood; backside of the outside rearview mirrors; fronts and tops of the rear wheel well flares. The shop that will install the clear bra material stated she needs to wait a minimum of two (2) weeks, but would prefer that she wait 30 days before the work is accomplished. We are aware after a new paint job that fumes are still being released from the paint. Question: How long should she wait before covering the new paint with the clear bra material???Thanks In Advance,Rob Vanderhoeven (Personal Admin to Diane)

Re: Paint Question
Rob,
Sure glad you cleared up the bra issue and it was the ( wife's car ). Talk to the painter but BC/CC is a cure and the solvents are out when cured, about 24 to 72 hrs. Other air dry paints takes much longer to get the reducer/solvents out.

Re: Paint Question
Dominic--Thanks for the response; and definitely the wife's car. (I am still laughing). Anyway, neither of us were aware of the quick cure rates for BC/CC--"thank you". Will "suggest" to my wife that she confer with the painter as you recommend. Thanks again; and enjoy that nice Southern California weather.Rob(A native Californian)Rob
