    Spark plug shielding

    Hi All,
I have a question and hope some one has an answer. I own a 75 stingray and want to know if there is a easy way of installing the spark plug wires through the bottom lower horizontal ignition shield. the 6,8,5,7 cylinders are easy I'm having a problem with the 1,3,2,4 cylinders. Do I need to remove the horizontal shields from the motor or is there a way to snake the plug wires to the front plugs? Pictures would help, especially the right side (starter side) of the motor.

    thanks
    John

    John,

By far this is the easiet way to do it. On the passenger's side it may be easiest to remove the starter, as getting at the small upper bolt that holds the shielding in place can be a challenge. However, if you're up for the challenge it can be done leaving the starter in place.

      Hi Patrick,
thanks for your input. It sounds like the best way to do this is remove the rails install the wires, reinstall the rails. I may try without removing the starter, but Murrys law seems to win out with me. Now I know why some of these cars don't use these rails and run the wires outside and around the rails. I want to keep my car as close to stock as possible. It's not my daily driver just for cruise, going for ice cream with the wife.
