These names were pulled off the CF site because they were threatened with a law suit by someone in NCRS. WTF is going on.

Does removing their name from a chat board confer immunity? If NCRS would announce such happenings instead of pretending the tooth fairy did it, it would be better for all. If the scenario of appointment in March, start program in April and end program in June is correct, I'd submit that someone, somewhere already looks like they don't know what they're doing. You can't fix stupid by using the backspace key. I've served on that Board and if you don't understand that your actions are subject to review, you missed a turn somewhere. Likewise screaming lawsuit in the middle of the night doesn't make the sunrise come any earlier. I suspect that Roy Sinor, through earned contacts and reputation, had a great deal to do with the establishment of the Validation Service. He will walk away from this in his unstained Teflon uniform and will always be able to say "I tried.". When the full story is revealed, I'm not sure that everyone involved will be able to do that.

Now I know why my $40 was sent back to me a couple of weeks ago without a document verification letter on my tank sticker. Hopefully, this can get resolved as I felt this was a terrific service to have.

Well now the CF thread has been closed, and there was no clarification of what happened here.
I would respectfully request an update from admins here on what transpired, and why, and what are the plans/intentions for the Document Validation Service.

You've got to be kidding!

My bet is that Tyler Townsley nailed it in the last 4 sentences of post #71 in the CLOSED thread on CF.

As far as the plans for the Service: it will most likely be merged with the Archives which are under the control of Bill Sangrey.

Guessing there might be a general discussion forum or off topic forum on this site whenever the BoD so chooses and directs it. Probably won't happen anytime soon since there are plenty of other blogs out there for general corvette related chatter. So far, this remains a forum for discussion of important club related topics that concern the preservation and restoration of corvettes and technical issues. The status of the DVS is a relevant topic and several moderators have chimed in, and nothing has gone poof. Leave the provocations at the door and try to limit the speculation and rumor mongering and there should be no problem. Real information that will answer the questions will probably come out pretty soon.

I'm not talking about "chatter' that can be found on other corvette blogs! I'm not suggesting a political forum, sports forum, or anything of the like! And I'm not suggesting "provocations and rumor mongering". SIMPLY an IDEA forum, geez, why can't an AVERAGE DUES PAYING MEMBER have a voice as long as it's not some kind of personal attack?

Sadly time is not on the NCRS side. If this is some kind of cover-up thing, festering like the lies do in politics, the true story will come out eventually, but the ill effects will be compounded by misinformation, rumor, and more deceit. This is a greying group that can not afford to loose members, as those with the love of these kind of cars are dwindling. It's not a growth industry, but I guess there is enough $'s left for the power brokers to squabble over the bones. Too bad for us not in the inner circle.

NCRS members should contact their elected Regional Board Member and ask about this subject. The list is published in "The Restorer" with each publication. If they don't answer to your satisfaction you may vote them out of office.
