Re: Mistakes in Judging Manual
On a personal level, this discussion of the '63 - '64 JG is very interesting.
When I made the decision about 12 years ago that I was done with NCRS judging, it was due to a less-than-positive experience having my very original, very authentic, early '63 judged. The "master judge", who judged mechanical knew nothing that wasn't written in the JG. The JG didn't recognize several correct parts which are unquestionably original to the vehicle. There was no discussion; the JG's written word was absolute.
That wasn't the first time I had encountered a judge who had inadequate knowledge and wisdom for the judging task being performed. But it was the last. I was done.
Anyway, it's interesting and surprising that the JG, which was demonstrably wrong back then, still seems to be very wrong. Yep, John, someone should be very ashamed.
