Now Rotate it 2x(now rightside up) in Android sw....
    1119221156_resized.jpg

    EXIF data says Orientation 0*
    1119221156_resized.jpg
    Still sideways. I give up.

Try another known 0* oriented photo.... Worked fine

    Will try on laptop next....
After rotation wrong, then back to normal, (explained here) then saved.... WORKED FINE!

    Interesting....

Quote from above..... "When your photos exceed the max horizontal width or vertical height, vBulletin will rotate them to fit those dimensions."

    Time for more experiments.....

    Ours is 800W x 600H

Re: Android pictures acting up again

I took these photos using my Android(Autorotate was OFF), then emailed to myself after reducing sizes to 25% of original, Then saved to my PC. File sizes after save apx 200KB.

TEST 1 - Original on my PC 1040Wx780H. The bench vice should be at the top left corner of the photo.
It did not rotate when uploaded. Why? It exceeds the 800W x 600H limit.
It appears that vBulletin maintained the aspect ratio as the original width was greater than the height. Then it reduced it to 800x600, within the limits. So it did not need to rotate.
      1219221638_resized.jpg
      Attributes after upload - 800x600

TEST 2 - Original on my PC 780Wx1040H. The blue paper towel should be at the top of the photo.
It Rotated it 90* CCW when uploaded. It exceeds the 600H limit.
It appears that vBulletin rotated it within the WxH limits and to maintain the aspect ratio(W > H), but in order to do that, it went sideways.
      1219221638a_resized.jpg
      Attributes after upload - 800x600

TEST 3 2nd photo above, retry. Original on my PC 780x1040
Rotate and Save, re-rotate and Save on PC, then uploaded here. It was still 780x1040 on the PC.
It uploaded properly with original orientation !!! WHY? no explanation yet.
      2ndRotatedThenSavedOnPC.jpg
      Attributes after upload - 450x600

TEST 4 2nd photo above, retry. Original on my PC 780x1040
Resized using Irfanview to 450x600, then upload here....
IT WORKED!!! It did not rotate 90*, because the WxH is within the 800x600 limit.
      Resized_450x600.jpg
      Attributes after upload - 450x600

TEST 5 2nd photo above, retry. Original on my PC 780x1040
Resized using Irfanview to 599Wx799H, then upload here....
IT WORKED!!! It did not rotate 90*, but H(799) exceeds the 600H limit. ??????
      no explanation yet.
      Resized_599x799.jpg
      Attributes after upload - 450x600

TEST 6 2nd photo above, retry. Original on my PC 780x1040
Resized using Irfanview to 525Wx700H, then upload here....
IT WORKED!!! It did not rotate 90*, but H(700) exceeds the 600H limit. ??????
      Resized_525x700.jpg
      Attributes after upload - 450x600

TEST 7 2nd photo above, retry. Original on my PC 780x1040
Resized using Irfanview to 800Wx600H(aspect ratio not maintained), then upload here....
IT WORKED!!! It did not rotate 90*, it's within the 800Wx600H limit.
      Resized_800x600x.jpg
      Attributes after upload - 800x600

TEST 8 2nd photo above, retry. Original on my PC 780x1040
Resized using Irfanview to 600Wx800H, then upload here....
IT WORKED!!! It did not rotate 90*, but H(800) exceeds the 600H limit. ??????
      Resized_600x800.jpg
      Attributes after upload - 450x600

TEST 9 2nd photo above, retry. Original on my PC 780x1040
Resized using Irfanview to 900Wx700H, then upload here....
IT WORKED!!! It did not rotate 90*, but W(900)H(700) exceeds the 800W/600H limit. ??????

      Attributes after upload - 450x600

Need to SAVE now to check photo attributes on the server.
See attributes after each photo after using the "Inspect" button for each photo, in RED. Also the edits after I saved.

      SUMMARY of experiments....

      1.
If the photo is above the 800W x 600H pixel limitation, but its aspect ratio is consistent(W > H), it will reduce the pixel count to within the WxH limits, and it will upload properly.
      See TEST 1

      2. If the photo is above the 800W x 600H pixel limitation, but its aspect ratio is NOT consistent(i.e. H is > W), it will rotate the image.
      See TEST 2

      3. It appears, "inconclusively", that if the photo has one attribute below it's limit, either W or H, it will resize within both limits and NOT rotate.
      See Tests 5, 6, 8

      4. If the photo is below the 800W x 600W limit,
      it will upload properly.
      See Test 4

      5. Inconclusive results after all this. It appears once the file is edited in Irfanview, it will never rotate. Geeesh!
      See Tests 10, 11, 12, 13, 14

It's because of this..... Irfanview modifies the file, as does a PC or MAC. See....
