Plus, as John Hinckley has already stated, the cycle time for a given body through paint, WAS a variable. It depended on how many times a given body was written up for QA/QC issues and had to be repaired in order to 'escape' to the final assy line.
Actually, I don't find the delay interval stated 'unusual'. You can easily introduce a 4-day delay by the advent of a weekend happening between body build start and finish...
