Re: Private Message Help
Bob,
There is no reason to suspect that your message did not go out. All too often members email addresses change and they fail to update their profile with their new email address. This would cause your message to not be received, but it would also cause a bounced email message to come back to me. I pursue those bounced email messages by posting a Private Message to the offending member advising them that their email address in their profile is not working. I also remind them that a working email address is a condition of usage for the NCRS Technical Discussion Board.
After that I may get a couple more bounced email messages as it take time for members to catch up. If it persists for a week or so I then turn off that members access to the TDB. That usually gets their attention and they fill out a HelpDesk ticket or call to find out why they can't log in.
Another scenario is when a member gets an email notice that they have a Private Message and they just reply to the email instead of following the instructions that they must come back to the Tech Board and reply to the message. When they do that I get their answer to the Private Message instead of the intended recipient.
I always send the member a reminder that they must come back to the TDB to reply to the Private Message in order for the sender to get their reply.
