Private Message Help

I've been discussing a problem with my car with a member via Private Message. I have lost contact, and although I've sent him a message, I don't see it in the "Sent Messages" log

Am I doing something wrong?

Sent PM messages stay until they are deleted by the member.

Gary,

Not sure I understand. I can see the messages to and from, but there is nothing in the "Sent Message" folder. I'm wondering if my message went out at all.

Bob,

If your sent message is empty, it's empty for one of two reasons:
1) send message button was not clicked
2) message was deleted

Just sent another..Nothing in the "Sent" folder. Is there someone who manages the site I should check with?

After seeing your post I was confused as would think what Gary said is true. Well, I "attempted so send" myself a message from NCRS to my work email address. I have refreshed the webpage a number of times and see NO MESSAGE SENT nor have I received a message. There is something definitely broke on NCRS email server somewhere in how it is indexing email messages, etc.

Yeah..I totally lost contact with someone who was a huge help in a problem I'm having. Didn't think to send myself an email...(duh)

Rick and Bob,

Scroll down to the bottom of the Private Message page. You may find that your mailbox is full and your sent mail is not being retained. You can retain a total of 50 messages and then your box is full.

You can empty your folder, or you can go through one at a time and delete messages to free up space.

I have about 44 messages so it is time for me to do a little house cleaning myself. As I recall you do get a warning that your mailbox is full but it has been a while since I let mine fill up.

Bob,

Click on Private Messages on the small blue menu bar. Then click on General Settings on the left hand side.

Check the options for Private Messages and make sure "Sent Message Save a Copy" is turned on.

Just checked the Admin console and you had "Save sent message" off. I turned it on.

On is the default setting.

Tell me why my message to my work email address was NEVER sent!? NEver had any problems seeing sent messages being/have been sent until today!?

Emails can only be sent to an active TDB member's email address that's in their TDB Profile.

Is you work email address in your TDB Profile?

No options have been changed in the software since last fall.

System default is On. The Admin's didn't turn it off. No glitch. Had to have been turned off in your User Profile. Only a member can make changes in their own profile.

There's no way for us to easily tell if your PM's were sent or not.
