Something happens to my posts after I type them. I sometimes break them up into separate paragraphs, but when they show up on the forum, they are all jammed together in one paragraph along with my name and the greeting fro the person I'm addressing. Is it my browser or some other setting in my computer? Thanks in advance. Mike

Re: Paragraphs?
Michael,
If you go down beside Post Quick Reply and click Go Advanced you will find a button there to preview your post. This will give you a chance to see exactly what your post looks like and make any adjustments you feel need to be made.
I have broken this post into paragraphs to show that it works, and to test it for myself.
If I preview post I can see that is does format as paragraphs and looks just like I intended.
I don't know of any setting or anything that would cause yours to look differently than what you typed off of the top of my head. If you still have trouble let me know and I will do a little research to try to find a reason it would do that to you.Administrator

Re: Paragraphs?
Thanks John, I'm trying it out now. To see what happens. Every sentence is a new paragraph. I even go back and edit on the last few posts and after spacing it out it all comes back together in one paragraph. Mike- Top

Re: Paragraphs?
John, it posted the same way again! I went back and moved it all around and when I posted it, it went back to one paragraph. I'm doing each sentence as a new paragraph again. See how it posts. Mike- Top

Re: Paragraphs?
Michael,
I don't know why you are having this problem. I went into your profile and checked to see if anything was set wrong and didn't find anything out of the ordinary.
What kind of computer are you using, PC or MAC?
What browser are you using, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera?
What version of your browser?Administrator

Re: Paragraphs?
Hi John, It's a PC running Firefox. I don't know which version, but upgrades itself about every two weeks. I'll exit and open this with Chrome and see what happens. Mike- Top

Re: Paragraphs?
I'm answering again.
This time with Chrome as the browser.
Every sentence is a paragraph.
This is the third time I'm typing this.
The power keeps going out and I lose the connection.

Re: Paragraphs?
Michael,
You better get to high ground.
I am testing this one with Firefox on my system.
I normally use Chrome but every browser seems to have their own quirks which drives those of us who try to design and maintain web sites and we applications up the wall.Administrator

Re: Paragraphs?
Michael,
Well Firefox seems to have worked for me without any issues.
I am currently using Firefox 15.0.1.
You can check on which version you are using by clicking on Help, then About in the upper left corner of your browser.
Different browsers and different version act differently way too often. It drives those of us who try to design web pages and web applications up the wall.Administrator

Re: Paragraphs?
It's a loss of formatting with the "Go Advanced" function. Sometimes it happens.
Have not been able to replicate it to figure out that exact conditions that cause it to occur.
have not had it happen when using the "Post Quick Reply" function.

Re: Paragraphs?
Thanks John and Gary.
It started happening no matter which way I replied, reply to thread or quick reply or reply with quote for that matter. It also worked fine for two years with Firefox, I don't know what changed but I'll download the latest version and see what happens. I can always use Chrome to reply to a post if I have to.

Re: Paragraphs?
Hi Guys, I updated Firefox, it was at 15.0.1 anyway, and it mentioned that Java was out of date, so Iupdated that plud-in as well. So, I'll see how this reply posts. And so will you. Mike- Top

Re: Paragraphs?
Looks like the same deal again. I'll go through the settings on my browser and see if anything pops out as being "different". The only thing i noticed when updating is that Firefox is blocking one of the Java add-ons because it is known to cause problems. Do you think that would cause the problem? Mike- Top
