    77 interior quarter panel retainers

In the course of re-carpeting my 77, I removed the interior quarter panels. They are held in place, partially, by a long, thin plate that "sandwiches" the rear of the door frame between the plate and the interior panel. Although my interior panels are in very nice condition, some of the reatiners that are pressed into the panel and accept the 4 screws that attach the plate are pulled out. Are there any suggestions on how to best hold new retainers into the plastic panel? Is a little epoxy in order? Thanks Steve

Doc Rebuild sells a repair kit for this. It contains new inserts, and new screws. 203-366-1332 P/N 1280466

Thanks George - I'll order one of the kits. Do the replacement retainers just press in, or are they held in place by something else - or should I wait and read the directions? Thanks again, Steve

Just a warning about the replacement screws. The head size maybe slightly larger. Save the old screws just in case.

Depending on how "bad" the holes in your panel are, you can either press the inserts directly into the existing hole, or use the supplied epoxy that comes with the kit.

The screws are correct, same thread, length, and head.

I used this kit on my 72.
