I just got my 67's Master cylinder back from Apple where I had it resleeved. They did a great job on the sleeving, it took two weeks to complete upon receipt, they indicate 1 week is normal but I suspect they were busy with the holidays. They charged $75 for the work, site says $60, but Lazar said dual circuit cylinders are more work due to more drilling and the deeper bore itself is more involved. They also hit me $15 for pulling the original piston, I had it packed up before I called and he told me I should strip it first, but he agreed not to charge since it was packed for shipment so I will call him back on that...also, I sent detailed instructions not to cast blast paint, but they did anyway...including inside the reservours....so I had to clean that up to prepare for the black VHT brake paint Joe recommended. I guess being explicit is tough for them to deal with...all in all, I am happy, just a few minor kinks to be aware of.
One thing that I am curious....the sleeve (as viewed from the bore end) is fairly thin, and the circlip groove looks to be cut almost as deep as the sleeve in the brass...isn't there a risk of the small "ring of brass" at the end tearing out due to it's softness? I would have preferred a little more margin here, it has to be paper thin in the groove area. I guess nobody has any trouble with this so I shouldn't worry.....Craig
