C-1 Needle bearings on steering box

Can anyone help me on removing both needle bearings & seal on '62 steering box. I've seen tools in ST-12 (don't have any). Just hoping someone has done this recently. Can I remove Pitman side bearings & seal with press and socket? The adjustment side (side cover bearings) are my main problem. Thanks for any help.

    Don,
You are correct, you can just dismantle the box and either press or drive the bearings out with a punch.

Remove pitman arm useing a puller and then removing side cover bolts and pull unit out. Then you can also remove steering wheel and large hex nut at the box , then lower the steering shaft enough to use a punch through the side cover to drive out the rear sector seal , then bearing.
