    Odd duck this.

    This is the first factory "dummy" canister I've inspected up close. I was surprised that it was stamped with anything at all. I wonder if that same stamped base was also used for a functioning canister as well?

    Obviously this one only serves as an anchor for the points baseplate. Since there is no provision for hooking up vacuum, the canister diaphragm, spring, and rod will never move.
