Thx Joe for the clarification, shows my personal experience is with 66/67. Paul's car is a 67 he and I have conversed in notes. Now I know this is unique to 66/67 apps....Craig

      Re: C2 L-79 T-Stat Housing/Fe or Al?

      Joe your statement:
"Your 1967 L79 uses the same 3827370 housing as all 1963-67 250/300 engines, and 1966 L79.The 1965 L79 was the only 350HP to use the 3827369 unit, which is also used on the 64-65 L76.

That being said, your picture shows the wrong tstat housing. It will probably work, but it depends on how "correct" you want to be."

Appears to be incorrect. You later allude to that in the pargraph below, saying, it should work but would be incorrect. Th 3827369 is the correct cast iron housing for 66 and 67 L79 327/350 HP engines. This is also verified in the TIM&JG. I think you meant that id was correct for 66/67 300HP engines. Craig

        Craig:

        1963-67 250/300HP use 3827369
        1965 350 HP uses 3827370
        1966-67 350 HP uses 3827369
        1964-65 365 HP uses 3827370

          Re: Isn't Paragon's stainless steel?

I was at Paragon this morning, and they were opening a big box full of fresh ones from their foundry supplier - they're cast iron.

I am now thoroughly confused. When I get the 1967 in two weeks I will re-post. Thanks to all who contributed to this point!

Paul - I believe it will work but just won't be correct. There may be some issues with the upper radiator hose clearing the fan belts etc, the cast iron outlet has a different sweep in it's design/shape. I am guessing it will all work though...Craig
