This is the #3890490 intake I have just purchased on EBay. That t-stat housing looks aluminum.Attached Files- Top

Re: C2 L-79 T-Stat Housing/Fe or Al?
Craig:
For 1965, the L79 uses the same t-stat housing as my L76, which is p.n.:3827370. The 250 and 300 HP engines use the 369 housing. Model years 1966-67 L79 engines used the 369 housings, but Paul didn't state what year car he had.
My reproduction housing is stainless rather than cast iron, which is "incorrect", but I prefer it. It says "3827370" across the top.

Paul:
Your 1967 L79 uses the same 3827370 housing as all 1963-67 250/300 engines, and 1966 L79.The 1965 L79 was the only 350HP to use the 3827369 unit, which is also used on the 64-65 L76.
That being said, your picture shows the wrong tstat housing. It will probably work, but it depends on how "correct" you want to be.
I am looking at a LI Corvette catalog (www.licorvette.com), and it shows cat no. 21-05j "Correct" tstat housing ************* 66-67 327/350HP**************" $47.00. If it is important that it not be stainless (it is cast, just like the iron type, but it gets painted--the only way to tell is with a magnet), then ask before you buy.
