Serious Resto? Pull The Body First

When you intend to fully restore a Vette, my opinion is to pull the body first leaving the interior in tact. This immediatly seperates the chassis and drive train elements from the much different body and interior restoration elements.

Your talking six mounts, radiator disconnect, steering colum removal and some ground straps if my memory serves.

This makes the whole project easier to control rather than ripping the entire car to pieces.

The downside is the body will weigh alot more. Your restoration project takes up two garage spaces. The parts new and old take up lots of space. It is not an easy task but the reward when finished is great.Make a plan that fits for you. Good Luck

THE BEST WAY IS TO GUT EVERYTHING. I MEAN EVERYTHING AND LABLE IT. YOU ARE GOING TO NEED TO DO IT ANYWAY AND THIS WILL MAKE THE BODY EASIER TO TAKE OFF.
