C1 '57 Brakes

Recently had my '57 start pullng to right upon braking. Found the right front wheel cylinder was leaking. I rebuilt it, bled system and adjusted brake. I cleaned the drum and shoes with isopropyl alcohol but it still pulls. Do I need to replace the shoes (about 1/2 life left) or will it burn out eventually?

put 50 miles or so on the best looking vet ever designed and if its still pulling its time for new shoes on the front suspension. mike

Agree...

with Mike. If you got lucky and caught the leak before the brake linings were REALLY impregnated, you might be able to 'sand' enough surface off to get back to a solid abrasive lining. If not, regardless of how much pad is left, it's time to discard and replace....

I dunno if I'd even drive that 50 miles. Since you already have the car jacked up and the wheel off, that's half the labor and brake shoes are cheap.........

I has been awhile, but was able to pull off front spindle and sand down the show some as well as the drum. Cleaned up with alcohol and reassembled and adjusted. They work fine not. Thanks for advice.
