    Quarter Million Dollar Dilemma

It was my birthday yesterday. I became curious if a Corvette was assembled on that particular Friday. A little Vin research showed that #16 was built that day and still exists. Better yet, it has been professionally restored, is for sale, and resides in California at Play Toys. Has any one ever tried to make this type connection? What are the pros and cons of pursuing this dream?

If the car in question was built 8/7/66 and its a real L-88, then 250K ain't unreasonable. good luck, mike

        Mark, I didn't know you could get a 6-cylinder in a 1983 Corvette

53 vin 16 would be real nice birthday present to youself. Best be a 99+ NCRS type restoration for a quarter mill. I guess i'll have to settle for a 45 Desoto Dump truck for my own b-day present but doubt it'll command as many bucks. good luck, mike

                For A Quarter Million Dollars...

Sentimentality is for girls...rich ones at that.

Get the best, most knowledgeable consultant you can find for investing that kind of money, birthdays not withstanding. Heck, people have sued Wall Street analysts for losing less money than that.

Say, Mike, did you have an appraisor look at that Desoto dump truck before you jumped in?

                        Mark,

I've been looking for one built on my birthday, and I've gotten within two days on the build date so far.

Then again, with about 100 1968 convertibles made on Friday, November 3, 1967 I've got a lot better odds of finding one, and at 10% of your price.
