    Re: Speaking of the PF-25

    Jerry,
You may have gotten all the points as the judge was not educated on the differences between the repro and an original. The repros are "off white", have lettering and graphics the are too good, and have a painted band at the top. Once you have compared the two side by side it is easy to tell them apart.

Dave The painted band is easy to remove. Lettering and graphics are usally not the same when compared to known originals of oil filters and most other parts but few even look at decals and spark plug wires for the small problems. The more one checks the more we find wrong with repros. and the points assigned may limit ones decison. Lyle

Hi Dave, you mean I got away with something? Since I've never seen an orginal the Paragon filter sure seemed to fit the discription in the judging guide. I guess this is one more thing to worry about when I take the car to the regional. The list just got longer.

            Jerry,

Just take the white off the upper band of the Paragon filter, and let it go at that for further judging. It's not worth $150 for a point or two if someone doesn't like the lettering.

Thanks Patrick, sounds like a plan. I would like to see an orginal though. Anyone have a digital pic of one they could share?

Jerry You may get a picture of one that came in a box but finding one that came from the factory installed may be hard to find. Lyle

                    Patrick------

I've got to agree; it's gotten ridiculous. Here I sit, now retired, with a brand new "ZL-1", in pieces, languishing for want of assembly. It boggles the mind---even mine. But, I am going to get to it SOON. Like beginning TODAY.

Sara has told me that I must declare a MORATORIUM regarding answering questions on this board and get this engine and project finished. She doesn't care too much about the engine but she's tired of hearing about it.

joe i found i had more time to get these projects done when i had to work for a living than i do now since i retired. i think you had to plan your free time better when you are employed.

                          Yeah. I bet.

Why don't you schedule an engine assembly party. I bet that you could get scads of volunteers from a 500 mile radius who would be anxious to help. Make that after Carlisle, though, cuz the troops are busy 'til then.
