Saludos, Reba!
Nice touch. Tal vez debe ser un NDB en Espanol.....
Agree with Reba, Bob. When car was painted, door was hung but it was EMPTY (no glass, runners, access doors, or power motors/wiring). If you take a peek inside your door with a flashlight (torch for our UK brothers), you'll see body color overspray inside matching the cutouts of items that weren't there.
Now, pay heed to what Reba said. There WAS paint touch up both at the factory as well as at the dealership. We really scratched our heads when 'Lil Red was in frame off. Sure looked like she'd been hit and fixed in the RR fender....
A few years later I would actually find the original owner my uncle bought the car from and have an opportunity to pitch a re-union with him. MAN, did he put the peddle to the floor when I tossed him the keys!
While chatting about this/that, he said the car, when delivered from St. Louis had SO LITTLE paint on the RR fender that primer was visible. AND, the bond around the RR wheel well lip was loose/sloppy.
OK, when I re-painted it, I 'cheated'. I did NOT have the painter leave exposed primer on the rear fender (swallow your pride, Jack). But, I did leave lunar orange peel in the finish and did crack and re-work the RR fender lip to be 'sloppy'. Interesting, the few times it's been judged, no exterior folks have challenged the sloppy glass bond....
