    66-67 Grille

Which way do the rivets fastening the brackets to the grille go? Are they with the head on the inside ( as I suspect)and the crimped side visible or with the rivet head outside and the crimped side non visible?

    Dave -

I don't have my car to look at right now, but the A.I.M. shows the head of both rivets at the top, with the crimped end at the bottom.

Dave - The grill bracket rivets on the grills (which I believe to be the original grills and brackets) of both my '66 and '67 were assembled per the AIM information John provided. Large head (top) and crimped end (bottom). Pete

        Pete,

My 66 assembly manual differs from the AIM. However, does you cars show the round part of rivet on top for both the upper and lower rivets?

            Dave -

A.I.M = Assembly Manual (same document); shows the round head of both upper and lower rivets at the top, peened-over ends at the bottom.

Dave - Yes, both rivets are installed in the same manner.

And John and Mike thanks for clarifying.
