    Chuck:

I believe we have a knight in shining armour working on this presently, Jim Mattison has been working diligently on this issue. Time will tell! An article written in Muscle Car Review informed the "car enthusiast" of this recent development.

I don't know where you all are getting your information, that Jim has found or will soon release the build sheet mother load data, but, IMO, it is all wishful thinking.

I talked to Jim about a month ago and he told me he has NOT found the mother load. In fact he has asked me to come to work for him and help him find said documents.
I'm still considering it, but there are a lot of factors I must consider before taking on such a fruitless task.

      Been there---done that!

        Re: Mr. Grenning

I think the last I heard was that the company that shipped these cars, when they were new, still had copies of the build sheets. I dont know how much truth there is to that, but it would be nice if that were true.
        Thanks
        Chuck

I based my response on the Muscle Car Review magazine issue, SPRING 2003. Page 5 last paragraph, under the heading In Search of Ancient Information (CHASING THE GENERAL'S PAST). Also page 70, the first 8 paragraphs, under the heading DOCUMENTING CHEVY MUSCLE (COPO EXPERT JIM MATTISON TALKS ABOUT CHEVROLET MUSCLE, THEN AND NOW, AND UPCOMING PLANS FOR GM'S PREMIERE BRAND).

I very much remember the article you wrote in the Corvette Restorer magazine. I photocopied that article and gave it out to everyone who said that the records WERE available. I believe you did do a diligent search to try and recover these precious documents. I just replied with what I read recently, and maybe there is a glimmering hope that this search can still be successful!

Do tell Clem, how did you come to acquire the shipping records for your 65?

And thanks for your help on the carb heat shield, to show my appreciation I have sent all of the raccoons in my neighborhood over to your place, told 'em you were putting out a bunch of food every night!
