Big block L/89 engine lifting process

I have a little question for those of you that know L/89 optioned engines.

What are the recommended mounting locations for the chain or harness for
hoisting an aluminum headed big block? The years I am interested in are
    1967 through 1969. I know that L/89 eguipped engines in non-Vettes
use one steel bracket on the left front ( two bolts ) intake and another
on the rear of the right head. Corvettes still used the short water pump
in 1969, so I'm not sure where the factory hoist locations were.

Once I finish building my aluminum headed L/71, I want to be sure I don't
rip the threads out of the heads. This monster seems too heavy to chance
lifting by three 3/8-16 UNC bolts in aluminum.

Can anyone suggest the proper way? Is the factory way the safe way to go?
Too much invested to take the chance!

Re: Big block L/89 engine lifting process

every engine i ever built both SBC and BBC i lifted either by a stock chevy bracket bolted to the 3/8" intake bolts or 7/16" bolts in the end of the cylinder heads. i have installed them in race cars using a plate bolted the the carb flange of the aluminum intake manifold when equipted with a 4 barrel carb using the 4 5/16" carb mounting bolts.
