Tony, I would suggest that you remove the wires, match them up by length and then make the switch. Let me know how you make out on this. I have thought about it in the past, but the removal/installation of the boot at either end scared me. If you do it without removing either the sparkplug boot or the distributor nipple, I'd love to hear how.

        Hi Tony:

You will find this almost impossible if you are using correct wires, there is a tape like ring around the wires thast serves to secure the braiding to the wire and keeps the braid from riding up on the wire, it is non-removable to the best of my knowledge as it will not restick. I have tried many times without luck, however if you manage it PLEASE let me know how you did it, I show a 69 and replace the wires at least twice a year as I have found no acceptable method to clean them. jerry

                    Tim,

I am driving my '70 from Springfield, VA (just outside of D.C.), but I will leave on Tuesday morning with a long pit stop in Lancaster, PA until Thursday. I will be continuing my trip on Thursday noonish from Lancaster, PA. Perhaps we can meet somewhere along the way. Maybe NJ would be a good place to hook up weather you are trailering or driving. Are you driving or trailering your Vette?

                        Tony:

I'll be trailering my '73, (for the first time) and leaving very early on Thursday morning. I used to live outside New York city, so I want to cross the G.W. bridge just after rush hour and then it's about a three hour drive to Boston. I'll be towing with my Astro AWD van with VA tags - 73 L-82. Keep an eye out. Tim

                            Tim,

I have some business to take care of on Thursday morning. As soon as that is completed I'm on my way. I will be driving my 1970 Laguna Gray LS-5 Coupe. Hope to see you on the way. Maybe we can meet at the judging presentatioin by John Woods at 7:30 at the hotel. I will be wearing blue jeans (now no body else better wear their blue jeans or you won't be able to find me!}.
