Trying to get the oil breather tube out of the aluminum intake. Did the PB Blaster soak for over a week with no result. Tried a channel lock with a rag around the breather. Can I heat this up? If so do I heat the tube or the aluminum (gingerly)? How about a heat gun? Any help appreciated. Want to try to save the tube and not harm it in the removal process. Thanks, Ken

Ken-----
Is the manifold on or off the engine? If it's off the engine, I'd try to press it out from the rear with an hydraulic or arbor press. You'll need to set the manifold up properly on the press and ensure that the area around the tube is fully supported befoire pressing. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 58 oil breather
Just did that last week for an intake swap - I used a piece of fat broomstick in the tube, reefed it back and forth, and it loosened up in about 30 seconds. It's a press fit - they stuck a bearing driver-type tool in the top of the tube and whacked it with a hammer.- Top
