63 FI Air Filter Element

I have the complete housing and S-Tube for my FI Unit, but the filter I have is an old aftermarket (dirty) paper repro. Does anyone have a suggestion for some alternative filter?

I've called around and an NOS is available but close to $500. BEfore biting that bullett (big ouch) I'm sure there is some other solution available (I Hope).

Hi Joe, corvette central has the foam only for $24.00, but the cage you might have to look for one, check with paragon they might have a use one, good luck Joe, Danny

Paragon has the foam filters for $20 but has no cages. If I had a drawing or good pic of one I could probably build one (with some help from my friend who owns a machine shop).

I can send you a photo if needed but making one exactly like the original would be a ton of work. You would need to stamp or spin the end pieces then find the correct expanded metal for the body. A workable but not correct appearing one could be built in a day to allow you to use the repro foam.
