Question about 1963 Cooling Fan Blade Rivets

The judging manual indicates the rivets on the fan blades are "round button heads". I'm trying to get a good picture of what to look for. Are these heads "flat" top or "rasied" top as in a dome-like shape?

Sometimes called mushroom head...the early fans used rounded top or 'dome-like' rivets. Later versions of the same fan (around 1965) changed to flat or pancake head rivets sometimes called button head. Your interpretation is correct (dome-like).

The picture is correct. However, I would say that the rivets are incorrect.

agree with joe, flat top rivets atypical. like to see dome-shaped rivet heads. mike
